MURPHY's LAW

Murphy's Law in full effect, whatever could go wrong did as the Mighty Flashes shoot themselves in the foot and lose in overtime. The loss of running backs /defensive backs Marcus "Flash" Rawls and Zack "Attack" Carugno certainly contributed to the loss, but mistakes and missed tackles are what really what kept the Flashes from registering third win of the season. The Tigers scored on their first posession of the game as coverage broke down on a pass play. The "Mighty Flashes tied the score at the beginning of the second quarter on a 13 play drive that covered 87 yards (mos of which was gotten by "Flash" & "Attack"). The game turned into a defensive struggle from that point and when the Flashes lost it's starting cornerback (Marcus) and then the starting safety (Zack), the struggle became harder. Not only on the defense, because Marcus (the starting half back) and Zack (the starting wing back) are two of the fastest players on the team and provide the outside speed that balances the inside (power) running game of power runners Korey "Red" Linico, Shawn "Steam" Harris and Mike Mr. Mean" Staton and gives the Mighty Flashes a complete ground game. With Flash and Attack out of the, the runnining game fell on the sholders of "Red", "Steam" and Josh "O'Mgosh" Stillwell, and though they responded well ("Red" led the way with 96 yards on 20 carries), 227 yards and 15 first downs and a 14-7 lead in the fourth quarter, mistakes and penalties kept the Flashes out of the end zone after The Tigers tied the score and allowed them to score in the overtime to win the game.
