Flashes magic turns Rams into Turkeys

Return of the Freedom

HOMECOMING!

It was more than the crowning of the King & Queen as the "Mighty Flashes" used a 48-0 thrashing to return the Freedom Division title back home

It was also "SENIORS DAY" as senior starters QB Dylan "Stick" Martin, C/LB Ian "Groovy" Groover, RB/LBKorey "Red" Linico, OL/DL Jerome"Jay-Jay" Roache, RB Daquan "Bulldozer" Chapman , TE/DE Brian "Lil Big Cat" Watts, DB Patrick "Meeny" Sweeney and RB/DB Marcus "Flash" Rawls made their last game a memorable one. "We want to go out as champions" Dylan told me before the game, and they not only played that way, they also led that way. Their play undoubtably inspired the play of their underclass teamates.

Unlike last years game, the "Mighty Flashes" offense came out smokin' five minutes into the game "Stick" hit wing back Paul "To Small" Fletcher with a 21 yard TD pass to put the Flashes up 7-zip and the route was on. Marcus "Flash" Rawls scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 63 yard scamper through the Ram's defense with 53 seconds left in the first quarter. He scored again four minutes later on a two yard run that was set up by a nifty 25 yard "Stick" pass to wideout Kevin "King Kev" Allison. "Stick" then hit full back Jake "Bulldog" Foehr (who also had a great game on both sides of the ball)with another pass for a two point conversion to boost the score up to 22-0. The " Mighty Flashes" put up two more scores before the half ended. Sophomore running back Sam "Big Bam" Ugowe scored on a 2 yard run and "Stick"hit "King Kev" with a 28 yard scoring pass to send the score to 35-zip at the half
Looking towards the future, Coach Joe "Frapper" Frappolli unleashed a team of underclassmen for most of the second half. The Flashes opened the half with a 50 yard touchdown run by "Big Bam" Ugowe. With the game well in hand Coach Frappolli turned the offense over to sophomore QB D'Andre "Da Man" Davis and the second string, who promty drove the ball down the field and scored. The score was setup by a nifty 35 yard juant by junior running back "Dandy" Don Blanton after which "Da Man" scored on a QB sneak.

DEFENSE!!

INTERCEPTED!

Offense wasn't the only smokin' part of the game. Led by senior linebacker Ian "Groovy" Groover's two interceptions, the "Mighty Flashes" "D" was up to every test as the kept the Rams offense off balance and reeling all game long. The Rams enjoyed a little early sucess with their short passing game but Coach Nick "Nicky L" Lubrano made a few changes in the coverages and closed that down before they could put together any kind of drive. The "D" line was giving the QB fits with unrelenting pressure completely negating any chance of a long pass and when coach "Nicky-L" switched up the coverages on the short stuff the Rams offenese was reduced to mostly three and out possesions
