Florence Flashes get set for another title run
After losing 17 players to graduation and leaving the "Pit", the Flashes coaching staff begin a rebuilding job as the team strives for a fifth straight CJ-1 championship
Head Coach Joe Frappolli is entering his 34th year at the helm of the mighty Flashes, he is the second winningest coach in South Jersey, having ammassed 228 wins and 5 ties against 99 losses, with 26 winning seasons after taking over a program that had won just 9 of its previous 36 games. In the past 33 years Coach "Frapp", has surely seen his share of rebuilding years and yet has always managed to some how put a competetive squad on the field. According to Coach Frappolli one of the biggist reasons for this (and his successful record) is his great coaching staff.
Coach Frappolli's great coaching staff consists of Steve Ordog, Nick Lubrano, Ross O'Neil, Joe. J. Frappolli, Don Nemeth, Cesar Pereda, John Frappolli, Dan Hegarty, Fred Dunphy, Tony Luyber and Pepe Piechette.
2007 Florence High School Varsity Football will officially get underway when the Flashes host Palmyra in the first game ever played at their new school field under the lights September 7th. The Flashes will have to get used to playing on Friday nights and not Saturday afternoons.
The Flashes have won 47 out of 48 games and four straight Central Jersey Group I titles in four years. A testament to the ability of the coaching staff to continually produce quality players from the ranks of its Freshmen and Junior Varsity programs. Florence started its current championship run with a 21-14 win over Keyport in the 2003 Group I Championship game. Then in 2004 Florence clobbered New Providence 35-7 at "The Pit" to win its second state straight title. In 2005 Florence defeated David Brearley 19-6 at Rutgers Stadium. Last year the Flashes posted a 17-6 win over South River at Rutgers.

Florence's only loss over the last four years came against Holy Cross last season. Therefore it still has a streak of 47 wins versus public schools as well as having won the BCSL Freedom Division six straight times.
